Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and knives
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic workspace
- Assist in meal preparation, including slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely delivery of dishes
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting improvements or new ideas based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong food preparation skills with an understanding of culinary techniques and recipe adherence
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with food industry safety standards, including food safety management and food handling protocols
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
- Experience in catering or large-scale meal preparation is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to follow safety standards in production environments
