Position Title: MAINTENANCE WORKER
Salary: $16/HR- $21/HR
Department: Environmental Services
Reports to: Director of Environmental Services
Position Information: Full Time, 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday (no weekends)
Position Description
This position assists with all aspects of building, grounds, and vehicle maintenance including unit inspections, preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance.
Essential Functions

Understand major building systems

Make repairs to facility equipment and fixtures, including vehicle maintenance

Follow the preventative maintenance program
-
Train with the Maintenance Technician/Director of Environmental Services on HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing and attain the skills to independently perform these duties

Assist with maintaining the overall condition of the building and grounds
-
Perform waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy
-
Attend in-service training programs

Be available and respond to facility emergencies including on-call procedures
-
Observe infection control procedures related to the Maintenance Department

Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality per the established schedule

Comply with safety, fire, protection and prevention programs by inspecting work areas and equipment in maintenance, laundry and housekeeping
-
Personally perform all maintenance tasks and functions, routine, emergency, preventative, and otherwise including unit inspections

Monitor all building systems to ensure continuous operations and efficient usage

Serve on an on-call basis and respond to campus, equipment, and building emergencies on a timely basis. Carry cell phone and be available for emergency calls 24/7

Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
Experience with major building systems maintenance
-
Knowledge of safety regulations pertaining to building and life safety codes
-
HVAC certification preferred
-
Demonstrated or capable of learning electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills
-
Understands and communicates job related information and directions in English

Ability to maintain regular attendance and work scheduled hours, including evenings, weekends, or if required
