This is a hands-on role for someone who is an excellent trainer first, but also wants to help lead the team, support the Studio Manager, and contribute to the overall success of the studio.
Our clients are primarily adults 40-65, so experience working with older adults and special populations is a strong plus. We value trainers who understand how to safely and effectively work with clients who may have limitations, previous injuries, medical considerations, or specific performance and longevity goals.
The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, proactive, positive, and comfortable taking ownership. You should enjoy coaching clients, helping other trainers improve, solving problems, and contributing to a positive and fun studio culture.
Personal Training
- Deliver exceptional semi-private personal training sessions tailored to each client's goals, abilities, and needs.
- Build strong relationships with clients and provide consistent coaching, accountability, and support.
- Safely train a wide range of clients, including adults 40+, older adults, and clients with physical limitations or special considerations.
- Follow FTWS standards for exercise programming, progression, safety, and client experience.
- Conduct client assessments, progress reviews, and reassessments.
- Help clients stay engaged and committed to their training and long-term goals.
- Maintain accurate client notes, programming, and communication through FTWS systems.
Assistant Manager Responsibilities
- Support the Studio Manager with the day-to-day operation of the studio.
- Serve as a leader and resource for trainers during assigned shifts.
- Help ensure trainers consistently meet FTWS standards for coaching, professionalism, communication, and client experience.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming studio.
- Assist with trainer schedules, coverage, communication, and daily coordination.
- Help onboard, mentor, and support newer trainers.
- Provide constructive feedback and communicate coaching or performance concerns to the Studio Manager.
- Help identify operational or client issues and take appropriate action.
- Assist with staff meetings, training, continuing education, and team development.
- Step in as a leadership presence when the Studio Manager is unavailable.
Client Experience & Retention
- Help create an environment where clients feel known, supported, and excited to come to the studio.
- Recognize clients who may be disengaging or at risk of leaving and communicate concerns to the appropriate manager.
- Support client follow-up, progress reviews, renewal conversations, and win-back efforts.
- Help ensure client concerns are addressed quickly and professionally.
- Contribute ideas that improve the overall client experience and retention.
What We're Looking For
- Several years of personal training experience.
- Strong knowledge of strength training, movement, exercise programming, and coaching.
- Experience working with adults 40+, older adults, or special populations is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, organized, and accountable.
- Comfortable working independently and making good decisions.
- A genuine interest in helping other trainers develop and succeed.
- Positive attitude and ability to contribute to a fun, team-oriented environment.
- Professionalism and a high standard for client care.
- Willingness to take on leadership responsibilities while continuing to train clients.
Success in This Role
Success means being an excellent trainer and a dependable leader who makes the Studio Manager's job easier, helps other trainers succeed, and contributes to an exceptional client experience.
The right person will lead by example, take ownership, communicate well, solve problems, and help create a studio that is positive, energetic, professional, and fun for both clients and trainers.
