Job Summary
Olive Tree Day School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a heart for ministry, a love for working with young children, and a desire to help them grow spiritually, academically, and emotionally. We are a Christian preschool where prayer and worship are woven into our daily routine, and our team is committed to reflecting God’s love in all we do. The teacher would have a mixed class of older 2's and 3's. This position starts on August 29th, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Assess and track children's developmental progress
- Promote social, emotional, and cognitive development through play-based learning
- Manage classroom behavior with love and respect
- Collaborate with staff to support children with special needs or early intervention needs
Requirements Education & Experience
- 12 Child Development (ECE/CD) units required (3 must be in Infant/Toddler)
- 1–2 years experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting preferred
Certifications
- CPR Certification (up to date)
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Valid CA Driver’s License or State ID
Skills
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Comfortable with prayer and worship in a school setting
- Ability to teach with both academic structure and creative play
- A servant-hearted, joyful, and patient approach to teaching
Spiritual Requirements
This is a ministry-centered position. The ideal candidate will:
- Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Actively attend and serve in a local, Bible-believing church
- Demonstrate Christlike character in word and deed (Galatians 5:22–23)
- Approach their work with a servant’s heart and spiritual maturity
- View teaching and as a calling, not just a job.
