Install and service a variety of commercial doors using the appropriate equipment.

Pinpoint and repair issues with springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components.

Install and fine-tune hardware: locks, handles, closers, and access control systems.

Verify that all work complies with safety and building codes.

Deliver clear, friendly service—explain your findings and offer cost-effective solutions.

Document visits, parts, processes, and outcomes; submit accurate reports.

Troubleshoot efficiently to restore performance and reliability.

Conduct final quality checks aligned with Vortex standards.

Industry-best training.

Commercial/retail door opening, hardware, and storefront glazing training.

Manual operated doors and dock equipment training for industrial openings.

Hollow metal door, frame, and hardware training.

Full-time shifts are available between 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday (Vortex business hours), with potential overtime and on-call needs.

High school diploma or equivalent.

2+ years in commercial door service is a plus (not required).

Knowledge of door types, brands, and hardware is a plus.

Comfort with hand and power tools.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to do math with fractions and read a tape measure accurately.

Solid communication and customer service abilities.

Detail orientation and a commitment to quality work.

Understanding of safety regulations and adherence to protocols.

Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Lift up to 50 lbs; frequently lift/bend; climb ladders up to 20’; work on knees for extended periods; safely operate power tools.
