Position Title: Host / Hostess

Overview / Purpose
As the first point of contact for guests at the Florida Room, the Host / Hostess plays a critical role in creating a warm, professional, and high-energy welcome experience that’s consistent with the upscale, sports club environment. You will manage reservations, seating flow, guest relations, and contribute to a smooth service operation. You’ll work closely with servers, bartenders, kitchen, and management to ensure the guest experience is exceptional from entry to exit.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests promptly, with genuine warmth and professionalism
- Manage reservation system, waitlists, and seating chart to optimize flow and minimize guest wait times
- Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and provide initial guidance (e.g. specials, wine list)
- Monitor dining room occupancy and table turnover; adjust seating assignments accordingly
- Communicate guest requests, special seating needs, or guest preferences to servers and management
- Answer phone calls, take reservations, respond to inquiries (in person, phone, or via online reservations)
- Provide accurate wait time estimates and keep guests informed
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic standards of host/hostess station and entrance area
- Assist staff as needed (e.g. bussing, light hosting tasks) during peak times
- Handle guest complaints or escalations in a courteous and calm manner; notify management when needed
- Familiarize yourself with menu, specials, and club events to assist guests with questions
- Uphold dress code, grooming, and behavioral standards aligned with the Florida Room’s brand

- Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
- Previous hospitality, restaurant, or upscale customer service experience preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
