Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Automation Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Eureka, CA. This role supports a 24/7 aluminum manufacturing environment, including melting, casting, rolling, and finishing operations.
The Electrical & Automation Engineer will design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, controls, PLCs, drives, HMI/SCADA platforms, historians, and automation solutions that improve uptime, safety, quality, and production efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineering professional who enjoys solving complex plant-floor challenges, leading automation projects, and making a measurable impact in a high-performance manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical, controls, and automation systems across aluminum production processes.
- Program and troubleshoot PLC platforms, including Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, GuardLogix, Siemens TIA Portal, or Beckhoff systems.
- Manage electrical and automation projects, including scope development, budgeting, execution, documentation, and commissioning support.
- Specify, configure, and troubleshoot variable frequency AC drives, DC motor drives, motor control centers, and related electrical equipment.
- Lead root-cause analysis for electrical downtime using historians, meters, thermal imaging, and other diagnostic tools.
- Maintain and modify HMI/SCADA systems, MES interfaces, historians, arc flash studies, coordination studies, and NFPA compliance programs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $135,000 to $150,000 per year.
