Position Summary
LIV Recovery Sober Living is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Grant Writer to help sustain and expand our sober living and outpatient behavioral health services through strong grant development, funder stewardship, and accurate reporting. In this role, you will help secure resources that allow clients to access care, continue treatment, and receive the support they need.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities that support sober living, outpatient behavioral health services, and recovery-focused programming.
- Write, edit, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, continuation applications, and required reports.
- Collaborate with leadership, program staff, clinical partners, and finance personnel to gather budgets, outcomes data, narratives, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain a grant calendar and ensure all deadlines, reporting requirements, and deliverables are met.
- Track awarded, pending, and declined grants and maintain accurate records of communications and compliance requirements.
- Support post-award reporting and contribute to LIV’s long-term funding strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Health, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development, preferably in behavioral health, addiction recovery, human services, housing support, or nonprofit settings.
- Strong writing, editing, research, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Experience developing proposal narratives, budgets, work plans, and supporting documentation.
- Familiarity with grant databases, online submission portals, Microsoft Office tools, and data tracking systems.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of sober living environments, recovery support services, outpatient behavioral health programs, and community-based treatment resources.
- Familiarity with person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches.
- Ability to translate program outcomes and client impact into persuasive funding narratives.
- Attention to detail, accountability, and follow-through.
- Passion for supporting individuals in recovery and contributing to a mission-driven workplace.
