Job Title: Superintendent – Commercial Construction
Location: Asheville, NC
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Up to $140,000
About the Opportunity
I'm recruiting on behalf of a well-established, highly respected general contractor based in the Asheville area. I can tell you is that this company has decades of experience delivering complex commercial projects across the Southeast, a strong pipeline, and a culture where field leadership is genuinely valued.
Their portfolio spans healthcare facilities, higher education campuses, and K–12 schools - both new construction and occupied renovations, with projects typically running $8–10M. Superintendents here aren't just field managers, they're trusted to own the work from groundbreak to closeout.
If you're a seasoned superintendent who's ready for a high-trust role with a company that backs you up, I want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading all field operations as the primary superintendent from start to finish
- Managing subcontractors, scheduling, quality control, and on-site safety
- Coordinating with the project management team and ownership
- Driving projects to completion on time and to a high standard
- Being a collaborative, solutions-focused leader in the field every day
Please Read Before Applying – Non-Negotiable Requirements
I want to be upfront - these requirements are firm. If you don't meet them, please hold off on applying. It saves us both time and ensures the right candidates can move through quickly.
- 7+ years as a lead superintendent — not assistant, not working under someone else. You need to have been the one truly running the work.
- Experience on Medical, Higher Ed, or K–12 projects — both new construction and occupied renovations preferred.
- Proven track record running $8–10M projects independently — you're the lead, not supporting another super.
- A genuine team player who takes full ownership in the field — if something goes wrong, you own it and fix it.
Nice to Have
- Some exposure to heavy mechanical scopes of work — not a dealbreaker if you don't have it, but it'll stand out.
