Morrow County Health District is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join the laboratory team at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner, Oregon. This position performs a broad range of laboratory testing and specimen collection functions in a rural critical access hospital setting serving both inpatient and outpatient populations.
Essential Duties

Perform laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood bank.

Collect blood specimens and perform phlebotomy procedures.

Process, analyze, and report laboratory results accurately and promptly.

Perform quality control procedures and instrument maintenance.

Troubleshoot instrumentation and testing issues.

Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and facility policies.

Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours laboratory coverage.

Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to support patient care.
Qualifications

Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related laboratory science program.

Meets CLIA ‘88 requirements for testing personnel for blood banking, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis.

Current ASCP certification as MLT (or equivalent certification preferred).

Ability to work independently in a small rural hospital environment.
