Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, to deliver products to retail stores and clients across designated routes
- Follow planned routes efficiently, utilizing strong organizational skills to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays
- Load and unload merchandise with proper lifting techniques, ensuring safe handling practices for heavy or bulky items
- Communicate clearly with clients upon delivery, addressing questions and building rapport to foster ongoing relationships
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and maintain vehicle safety standards
- Assist with merchandising efforts at retail locations by organizing products on shelves and ensuring proper presentation
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging sales skills to enhance customer satisfaction and increase revenue
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including route driving and automobile transportation
- Strong knowledge of pricing strategies and basic math skills for accurate transactions and calculations
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, customer service, and team collaboration
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely following proper lifting practices; physically fit to handle demanding tasks throughout the day
- Familiarity with DOT regulations governing commercial truck driving to ensure compliance at all times
- Experience in retail store environments or merchandising is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage schedules, routes, and paperwork efficiently
- Ability to build positive customer relationships through friendly service and professional communication
