Job Description
We have a part time opportunity (24 hours per week) for a Pharmacy Tech to join our team! Shifts will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The Pharmacy Technician, under supervision of a licensed pharmacist, will assist in the various activities and duties of the pharmacy department not requiring professional judgment of the pharmacist. They will carry out these duties in strict accordance with standards, written procedures and guidelines of the pharmacy department.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists pharmacist in daily operations of the pharmacy, providing pharmaceutical care to include distribution of medication, unit dose pre-packaging, cart-fill and delivery of medications, handling phone calls/orders, removal of out of date medications.
Carries out calculations required for the usual dosage determinations and solution preparation, using weight and volume equivalents in the metric systems.
Distributes medication to patient care areas and is responsible for maintaining medication in these areas including inventory and restocking
Performs aseptic compounding of sterile dosage forms. This includes practice of aseptic technique, proper procedure for preparing certain types of parenteral admixtures, preparation of the label and any control records, and documentation of quality control.
Required Qualifications:
The pay range for this position is $19.97 - $29.95. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
