SUMMARY:
This position manages all human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, benefit administration, payroll, employee policies, training, and the necessary support to all levels of management and employees. The Human Resources Manager has a role shaping the bank’s culture and forging a strong link between management and employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Recruitment
- Works with top management to meet staffing goals
- Ensure job descriptions are up-to-date and accurate
- Post open positions internally and/or externally, as appropriate
- Screen candidates by resumes and/or phone screenings
- Communicate verbal offer to candidate of choice on behalf of manager
- Prepare offer letter and attach all related documents
- Perform background screenings and obtain pertinent employment paperwork
- Schedule and perform new hire onboarding; coordinating with IT and specific department manager for orientation and training
Payroll & Benefits Administration:
- Ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll records, and retain records
- Administer employee deductions, including direct deposits, FSA, benefits, SIMPLE IRA contributions, etc.
- Book the payroll journal entry
- Establish and maintain a relationship with benefit providers; understand policies and answer questions, or direct employees to the information needed
- Coordinate open enrollment for each plan year by communicating benefit options to employees and gathering the necessary paperwork for enrolling or wavering benefits
- Maintain all Benefit Summary documents and life insurance policies
- Ensure all annual reporting to Benefit providers are completed timely
- Ensure standards are maintained in accordance with Healthcare Reform
Compliance
- Adhere to EEOC and affirmative action plans
- Ensure current policies follow federal and state regulations
- Keep abreast of legislation affecting human resources; train and update management accordingly ensuring compliance
- Maintain and update the Employee Handbook
- Communicate all policies to employees
- Assign annual employee training
Employee Relations
- Ensure performance reviews are conducted annually; coach managers as needed to establish realistic goals and expectations with the goal being to increase employee engagement and retention
- Coach managers through any performance issues or employee conflicts
- Coach managers in leadership skills
- Meet with employees and managers to discuss performance improvement expectations, and document a formal Performance Improvement Plan if necessary
- Exercise appropriate care when determined termination is necessary, including documentation of reasons for termination
- Build culture and employee engagement with activities that represent the bank’s mission, goals, and core values
- Maintain accurate and complete employee files/records
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Human Resource Experience, SHRM a plus but not required
- Experience in conducting workplace investigations and resolving employee concerns
- Ability to influence, build relationships and communicate across all management levels and employees of the bank
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate management, leadership and organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
