The Concrete Batch Plant Operator, reporting directly to the Batch Plant Manager, will be responsible for operating the concrete batch plant to produce concrete used in construction. Operators will be responsible for many tasks at the batch plant to make sure concrete is mixed and distributed in a safe and timely manner. Operators will also be responsible for daily checks and inspections to ensure equipment is operating as intended and creating concrete that meets the specifications of the job.
This position is one in which a momentary lapse of attention may result in grave and immediate danger to themselves and others; therefore, this position is classified as safety sensitive.
- Operating concrete batch plant to produce concrete to be used in construction.
- Operating controls in the control room to ensure proper mixing of concrete ingredients.
- Weighing and mixing aggregate, cement, and water to produce concrete.
- Observing gauges, dials and operation of machinery to ensure conformance to processing specifications.
- Make daily checks of all working parts so they can be maintained in a timely manner.
- Repairing machinery as needed using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2 Years of Experience in Batch Plant Operations
- Must be able to follow directions and operate equipment safely.
- Must have some mechanical ability/knowledge.
- Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, and squat as required for various duties.
- Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Must adhere to safety requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and supervisors with other duties as required.
- All candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening. Testing requirements may be Non-DOT or DOT regulated depending on the position applied for.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading a Team of Operators, Loaders, Mechanics and Laborers.
- 5-10 Years of Experience in Batch Plant Operations
