We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Stain Matcher to join our Austin team.
What You’ll Do
As our Stain Matcher, you’ll be responsible for mixing, matching, and applying stains and finishes to custom wood products to meet client specifications and project standards. You’ll work closely with our production team to ensure every piece leaves the shop with the right color, tone, and finish — exactly as specified.
- Mix and match stains, toners, glazes, and topcoats to hit color targets
- Apply finishes to custom wood panels, cladding, and architectural components
- Read and interpret finish schedules and color specifications
- Maintain consistency across batches and multiple pieces on the same job
- Inspect finished pieces for quality before they leave the shop
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Collaborate with production and shop leadership to meet project timelines
What We’re Looking For
No prior staining experience? No problem — we’ll train the right person. What matters most is a sharp eye for color, a steady hand, and a genuine commitment to quality.
- No experience required — we will train
- Experience in wood finishing, painting, or staining is a plus
- A strong eye for color and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with stains, solvents, and finishing products
- Ability to follow specifications and match colors consistently
- Dependable, on time, and takes pride in their work
- Comfortable standing, lifting, and working in a shop environment
