American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele step-down unit position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.

26-bed hospital unit with all private rooms
-
Step-down unit from ICU with all patients on telemetry heart monitoring
-
Patient population includes GI bleed, COVID, and respiratory distress cases with critical drips
-
Nurse to patient ratio of 4-5:1

Third shift, nightshift weekend block (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

3x12 schedule, 7p-7a
-
36 hours per week, 0.9 FTE
-
Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact)

BLS and ACLS certification required
-
ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
-
No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred

Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
-
Provide direct patient care including comprehensive assessments, treatments, and care coordination
-
Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
-
Deliver patient and family-centered education tailored to culture, age, and comprehension level
-
Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
-
Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and pressure ulcer monitoring
-
Collaborate effectively with an interprofessional care team
