Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in Infusion and Oncology to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient-centered care, and experience working with complex medical conditions. This role offers an opportunity to provide expert nursing care in a fast-paced environment while supporting patients through their treatment journeys.
Duties
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion therapies following established protocols and safety standards.
- Monitor patient responses during infusion procedures, promptly identifying and managing adverse reactions or complications.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medication side effects, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure aseptic techniques are strictly followed during all procedures to prevent infections and maintain sterile environments.
- Assist in triage assessments for patients presenting with acute or chronic conditions requiring infusion or oncology services.
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice with current BLS certification.
- Proven experience in infusion therapy or oncology nursing within hospital or outpatient settings.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and order entry.
- Familiarity with advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion, catheter care, medication administration, and sterile processing techniques.
- Experience working with individuals undergoing complex treatments such as chemotherapy or biologic therapies.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and pharmacology related to oncology treatments.
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations utilizing critical care skills including airway management and acute pain management protocols.
