As a Roofer Laborer, you will support skilled roofers by preparing work sites, handling materials, and ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed. Duties
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of various roofing systems including metal roofing, single-ply membrane roofing, and tile roofing.
- Prepare job sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety harnesses to ensure secure working conditions at heights.
- Handle hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install roofing materials according to project specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings and construction plans to support accurate installation and repairs.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, metal panels, siding, and concrete forms while maintaining proper lifting techniques.
- Support the fabrication and installation of siding, stucco, caulking, metal stud framing, and other exterior finishes.
- Follow all construction safety regulations including proper use of safety harnesses, ladder use protocols, and adherence to workplace safety standards.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Assist in remodeling projects by supporting tasks such as tile laying or handyman repairs as needed.
Experience
- Prior construction experience with a focus on roofing or exterior building projects is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus for understanding project scope.
- Hands-on experience with roofing repair, metal roofing installation, siding installation, or single-ply membrane roofing is advantageous.
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and proper use of safety harnesses is essential.
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions demonstrates resilience and adaptability.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans accurately ensures precise project execution.
- Previous site experience involving concrete forming or fabrication supports versatile skill development in construction environments.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work is required; handyman experience or tile laying skills are beneficial for supporting diverse tasks within the team.
