About the Role
We're looking for people who have a gift for explaining things patiently and helping people feel heard. Bonus points for understanding hearing aids — not just how to describe them, but how they feel to use, how to troubleshoot them, and how to guide someone toward actually wearing them consistently.
Our customers are older adults navigating hearing loss for the first time. When they open their hearing aids for the first time, there are questions — about fit, feedback, or just figuring out how to change a battery — and you're the person who walks them through it. You'll conduct one-on-one video or phone consultations at whatever pace the customer needs, until they feel confident and taken care of.
You don't need to be an audiologist (though that's a big plus). You only need to love helping people, explain things clearly and simply, and have real patience — especially with older adults who may need extra time and reassurance.
This is a fully remote, contract position open to applicants in the US and Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one video or phone consultations with customers who are new to hearing aids or simply need assistance with their hearing devices
- Troubleshoot fit, comfort, feedback, battery use, and general device operation
- Help customers build confidence with their devices and understand the real-life impact of consistent use
- Guide customers through moments of doubt or frustration — educating them on the value of their investment in better hearing
- Document consultation outcomes and flag recurring patterns to support product improvement
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Based in the US or Canada
- Exceptional patience and communication skills, especially with older adults
- Ability to explain technical concepts in plain, accessible language
- Comfortable on video calls, working independently with basic technology, and spending the majority of workday in virtual customer conversations
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace
Strongly Preferred:
- Have a background in audiology, hearing health, retail hearing care, or a related field (this moves you to the top of our list, but is not required)
- Demonstrated ability to guide someone through uncertainty + help them commit to a path forward
- Experience in an advisory role where outcomes depend on building trust quickly
Bonus/Nice to haves:
- Customer support or sales experience with health products
- Sales or consultative selling experience, particularly in remote or phone/video settings
- Experience in customer support, telehealth consultations, remote patient support, or any other customer-facing role
- Personal or family experience using hearing aids
- Familiarity with telehealth or virtual consultation platforms
What We Offer
- $20–$25/hour depending on experience
- Performance bonuses for outstanding outcomes
- Fully remote and flexible contract work
- Meaningful work — customers will tell you directly when you've made a difference
