Cornerstone Rescue Mission Thrift Store Cashier/Dock Worker
Position Description
CSRM Thrift Store Cashier/Dock Workers are responsible for customer service in all areas of retail store sales, including handling money and receipts, and merchandising and sales floor maintenance. Casher/Dock Worker also receive and accept donations, schedule, receive and process donations.
Summary
Casher/Dock Worker provide a friendly reception to donors as they reveive and accept donations, according to CSRM policies, Cashier/Dock Worker, when not receiving donation are assigned to assist with inventory management tasks by processing donations, as directed. Cashier/Dock Worker account for all cash items turned in daily, including change funds, and sales receipts, by checking for required signature, dates and amounts. Cashier/Dock Worker verify cash turn-ins, credit memo and tapes with turn in sheet for each register. They balance all registers, and compute variation in balances by determining the differene between cash receive and totals on end of day sales records. This position is also responsible for customer service, and merchandise displays in teh area of responsibility, as per CSRM Thrift Store guiddlines.
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, CPR and Basic First Aid, or willing to certify upon hire. Valid Driver's license a plus but not required.

- Must be able to lift or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
- The employee frequently is required to reach above the shoulder with hands and arms, must be able to bend, squat, sit, stand, stoop, crouch, knee, and twist/turn.
- Must be able to speak, and/or listen within a normal range to communicate information to donors, clients and staff.
- The employee is often required to stand for extended periods in a warehouse -like environment.
- Requires normal range of vision, including close vision, to read memos, computer screens and written documents.
- The employee will routinely be exposed to outside weather conditions,
- The noise level is usually moderatley high.
Travel
The CSRM Thrift Store Cashier/Dock Worker may occationally be requested to travel by car or bus.
