Overview of the Position
Judge Diane J. Humetewa, is seeking a highly motivated and talented Judicial Law Clerk for a one-year term beginning Sept. 1, 2028, with the possibility of a one-year renewal. The Judicial Law Clerk will work closely with Judge Humetewa and chambers staff on a wide range of matters pending before the Court. Primary responsibilities include conducting substantive legal research, drafting bench memoranda, and preparing proposed orders and opinions in predominantly civil cases. The District of Arizona maintains a demanding and active docket. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse caseload involving complex factual and legal issues, including matters that present novel questions of law. The position offers significant responsibility, meaningful mentorship, and extensive exposure to federal litigation and judicial decision-making. Daily interaction and collaboration with Judge Humetewa and fellow law clerks are integral aspects of the position.
