PRE-PRODUCTION MAC OPERATOR
Applied Image is a leader and innovator in the manufacture and installation of architectural and environmental graphics. We produce a wide range of product, from the small and simple to the large and complex, in terms of materials, design intent, and processes. The Mac Operator efficiently creates, organizes and plans digital output of the highest quality.
The Pre-Production Operator responsibilities include but are not restricted to:
· Utilizing a variety of graphics software packages, prepare digital files for large format print, plotter, and CNC output.
· Working with Sales and Project Management, contribute heavily to the process of transitioning a project from design to production and fabrication, including creating detailed installation instructions and layouts.
· Read and interpret job specifications.
· Color correct files and adjust output according to client specifications, including PMS color matching.
· Work with and develop output solutions, including color profiling, using Onyx, Colorgate and other RIP packages.
· Troubleshoot, design and develop production solutions with attention towards process and materials in an environment that emphasizes teamwork.
· Organize and maintain basic computer hardware and their operating systems, including Mac OS and Windows.
· Organize and maintain the server file system, daily backup, and digital archive.
· Develop knowledge of ongoing technical advancements in the field of digital graphic design and production.
· Work overtime as necessary.
Expert level of skill in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and InDesign required. Good design sensibility, excellent color sensibility required. Knowledge of Windows and Macintosh operating systems required. Precise basic math skills are required, good organization is essential. Excellent communication skills are required, as is the ability to work on a collaborative team.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Art or Design preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.
