We are looking for a dependable and experienced Heavy Equipment Service Mechanic to join our team in Tualatin, Oregon. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing truck-mounted equipment and hydraulic systems while providing quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.

Position Summary
The Service Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining truck-mounted equipment, hydraulic systems, winches, cranes, hoists, and related components. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in both the shop and the field when required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on truck-mounted equipment.
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and installations on service bodies, cranes, winches, hoists, and related equipment.
- Inspect equipment to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, cylinders, pumps, valves, hoses, and fittings.
- Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical drawings.
- Perform preventative maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
- Operate diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely.
- Install replacement parts and verify proper operation after repairs.
- Document repairs, inspections, parts used, and labor performed.
- Communicate equipment issues and repair recommendations to supervisors and customers when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment safely (training/certification provided if necessary).
- Assist with fabrication and welding repairs when required.
- Support production and service departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment mechanical repair experience preferred.
- Experience working with hydraulic systems, heavy equipment, commercial trucks, or industrial equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and hydraulic schematics.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Forklift experience preferred or willingness to become certified.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Reliable attendance and a positive attitude.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment safely.
Pay: $26.00 - $34.00 per hour
