CDL A Driver – Hands-On Delivery and Customer Service
Location: Salisbury, NC
Pay: $55,000–$57,000 per year
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00/4:00 PM
About the Role:
Are you a licensed Class A CDL driver with a valid DOT medical card looking for a role that goes beyond driving? This position combines driving, manual labor, and customer service. You’ll stay active, solve challenges on the fly, and engage directly with customers while ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. We are willing to train candidates right out of school who are ready to work hard and learn.
What You’ll Do:
Safely operate a delivery truck (26,000+ lbs GVW) on assigned routes.
Load and unload products, including heavy lifting and moving pallets/displays to the sales floor.
Pick up and return shells, flats, damaged products, and pallets to maintain inventory accuracy.
Merchandise products at customer locations, ensuring displays meet company standards.
Communicate with sales and delivery teams regarding issues, updates, and opportunities.
Follow account guidelines (DSD, PO#, Military, etc.) during order check-ins.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and DOT regulations.
Drive a company vehicle safely during work hours.
What You Need to Succeed:
Valid Class A CDL license and up-to-date DOT medical card.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently and over 100 lbs occasionally using equipment like electric pallet jacks.
Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical tasks, including stooping, kneeling, climbing, and crouching.
Must pass criminal background check, MVR check, DOT drug test, and FMCSA Clearinghouse check.
Knowledge of Encompass handheld software is a plus.
