Position Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and immediately after procedures. Prepares the operating room and ensure a sterile environment, assists the surgical team (as circulating or scrub nurse), monitors the patient's condition and vital signs, manages instruments and supplies, advocates for patient safety, and collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members throughout the perioperative period.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse(RN) license in the state of Massachusetts
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Prior perioperative, or surgical nursing experience preferred; CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification is a strong plus.
- Solid knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, infection control, and perioperative standards (AORN guidelines)
- Strong critical-thinking, prioritization, and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high-stress team environment
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move/lift patients and equipment, and respond quickly in emergencies.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- ASN with enrollment in a BSN/MSN program or equivalent service line experience may be considered with CNO approval.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current Massachusetts licensure.
- BLS & ACLS certification is required for all hires prior to their start date.

Schedule: 7:00am - 5:30pm, Days/ Evenings
