Duties:
- Provide Exceptional Dog Care: treat every dog with patience, respect, and compassion while ensuring their safety, health, and well-being throughout the day.
- Maintain a Clean Facility: keep play areas, kennels, equipment, and all workspaces clean, sanitized, organized, and free of pet waste throughout each shift.
- Monitor Dog Behavior: supervise dogs at all times, use approved handling techniques and basic obedience commands, reinforce positive behavior, and safely redirect inappropriate behavior.
- Communicate Effectively: maintain professional, respectful communication with team members and pet owners, and promptly report injuries, illnesses, behavioral concerns, or safety issues to management.
- Demonstrate Professionalism: be dependable, punctual, self-motivated, appropriately dressed, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Support Daily Operations: complete assigned cleaning duties, provide fresh water, monitor each dog's health, maintain accurate records, and keep your assigned playroom clean throughout your shift.
- Promote a Positive Environment: work collaboratively as a team to create a safe, fun, engaging, and enriching experience for both dogs and coworkers while providing outstanding customer service.
Dog Handler Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a dog daycare, boarding facility, animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or similar animal care environment is preferred.
- Comfortable safely handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, temperaments, and energy levels in both individual and group settings.
- Basic knowledge of dog body language, behavior, and safe handling techniques is preferred.
- Ability to remain calm, confident, and attentive while supervising multiple dogs in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and enriching environment for every dog.
