Responsibilities
- Conduct face-to-face outreach through door-to-door canvassing and outdoor community engagement to educate residents about Lifeline services
- Build rapport with diverse populations using conversational engagement and bilingual communication skills when applicable
- Assist potential applicants by explaining program benefits, eligibility requirements, and enrollment procedures clearly and transparently
- Utilize mobile devices to document interactions, collect necessary information, and submit enrollment data efficiently
- Promote community awareness through marketing efforts, including distributing informational materials and participating in local events
- Follow up with interested individuals to facilitate the enrollment process and answer any questions promptly
- Maintain professionalism during outdoor work, ensuring safety protocols are followed while walking or traveling between locations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in field sales, canvassing, or outdoor outreach activities, preferably in community or fundraising settings
- Strong face-to-face communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively
- Supervising experience or leadership skills are a plus for guiding team efforts or training new members
- Bilingual abilities to serve multilingual communities are highly desirable
- Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods while walking or using transportation methods such as walking or public transit
- Customer service background with a focus on conversational engagement and community support
- Experience with telemarketing, marketing strategies, or community engagement initiatives is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills combined with proficiency in using mobile devices for data entry and reporting
