Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for a diverse group of student and community members
Assist patrons at the circulation desk
Check in/out books and other library material
Reserve items, DVDs and laptops
Answer general questions about the library and library services
Shelve and retrieve books
Participate in library inventory, including shelf reading and shelf maintenance
Special projects assigned by library staff
Job Requirements:
Previous work in a library or book store a plus
Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty and the public
Able to take directions and follow them through
Attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Reliable and committed to a regular work schedule
Must be able to lift/push modest weights
Additional Information:
This position is open only to students currently enrolled at MCLA and who have been awarded federal work study.
