As a member of our team, you'll work alongside our board-certified veterinary dentist, board-certified anesthesiologists, and experienced anesthesia support staff while caring for patients undergoing advanced dental and oral surgery procedures. Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage anesthesia for advanced dental and oral surgery procedures under the guidance of our board-certified anesthesiologists.
- Perform anesthesia induction, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery.
- Assist our board-certified veterinary dentist with oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures.
- Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal probing, charting, digital dental radiographs, and cone beam CT imaging.
- Provide exceptional nursing care to patients from admission through recovery.
- Prepare and maintain surgical suites, including instrument preparation, sterilization, and equipment setup.
- Perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, catheter placement, and administer medications (PO, SQ, IM, IV).
- Operate in-house laboratory equipment and send samples to reference laboratories
- Communicate effectively with clients throughout the patient's visit, from check-in through discharge.
- Assist veterinarians during appointments, procedures, and surgeries.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure patient safety at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to provide outstanding patient care and client service.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) license/certification.
- Minimum of one year of veterinary technician experience.
- Experience with anesthesia, including induction, monitoring, and recovery.
- Proficiency in venipuncture, medication administration, and medical calculations.
- Excellent patient handling and restraint skills.
- Strong organizational, communication, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Flexible schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of veterinary anesthesia experience.
- Experience performing dental prophylaxis, periodontal charting, and digital dental radiography.
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software.
