Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring they are clean, organized, and equipped with necessary instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including patient histories, vital signs, and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and treatment options.
- Manage dental clinic operations, including scheduling appointments and coordinating with the dental receptionist.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients.
- Assist in various specialties such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency in Dental Software such as Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices.
- Experience with dental imaging techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation and coding.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients of all ages, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to cover the front office if needed.
