Position Summary
The Shift Lead is responsible for leading daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts while ensuring outstanding guest service, food quality, cleanliness, and team performance. This position serves as the person in charge when management is not present and is responsible for maintaining Super Chix standards in every aspect of the operation.
The Shift Lead leads by example, motivates team members, solves problems quickly, and creates a positive environment for both guests and employees.
Essential ResponsibilitiesLeadership
- Lead and supervise team members throughout each shift.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure they are completed efficiently.
- Motivate employees to provide exceptional customer service.
- Coach team members on company standards and procedures.
- Address employee concerns professionally.
- Assist in training new employees.
Guest Service
- Deliver exceptional hospitality to every guest.
- Resolve guest complaints quickly and professionally.
- Ensure every order is accurate and served promptly.
- Maintain a positive dining experience.
Operations
- Open and close the restaurant following company procedures.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed.
- Maintain proper staffing and workflow during busy periods.
- Monitor ticket times and service speed.
- Complete shift checklists and daily reports.
Food Safety & Cleanliness
- Follow all health department regulations.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining room.
- Enforce sanitation and cleaning schedules.
Cash Handling
- Operate POS system accurately.
- Count cash drawers before and after shifts.
- Handle cash deposits according to company procedures.
- Ensure accurate cash accountability.
Inventory
- Monitor product levels during shifts.
- Report low inventory items to management.
- Help minimize food waste and control costs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous restaurant experience required.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Bend, reach, stoop, and climb as needed.
- Work in hot, cold, and fast-paced environments.
- Maintain energy and professionalism throughout the shift.
