Home Office: The Dalles
Work Schedule: Full-Time; 30 hours per week; Monday – Friday; 9:30am – 4:00pm (some evenings and weekends every month)
Wage Range: $23.60 - $25.68 per hour
Reports to: Next Door Native Supports (NDNS) Program Supervisor

Who are we looking for?
The Youth Outreach Worker engages with and builds relationships with program participants and their families requiring additional support in areas as directed by the program. When not working with program participants and their families, the Native Youth Outreach Worker supports the Columbia Gorge Education Service District (CGESD) Indian Education Program in South Wasco County School District (SWCSD), Dufur School District (DSD), North Wasco County School District (NWCSD), and Hood River County School District (HRCSD).
What you will do…
· Engage and build relationships with program participants and their families needing extra support in areas as directed by the program.
· Work alongside families/households to increase their ability for self-management and shared decision-making.
· Provide basic case management, follow-up, and support services through weekly or monthly one-on-one meetings with youth.
· Ensure documentation and effective communication when service gaps are found.
· Build on existing local resources and communication methods to develop tools aimed at youth and their families.
· Facilitate weekly, monthly, and annual after-school events/activities/youth day camps specific to Native American Youth.
· Engage and strengthen relationships with community partners and other programs and activities the youth participate in.
· Participate in community meetings that focus on youth needs and service coordination.
· Act as a liaison when making referrals to other agencies that support families in housing, mentoring, mental health care, parenting education, and more. § Provide tutoring support to students.
· Organize meetings with native students in schools and out of schools and lead cultural activities.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Requirements…
Required:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Valid driver’s license with auto liability insurance
· Experience working with children, families, and youth
· Experience working with or living as a member of one of the four tribes of Yakama, Nez Perce, Warm Springs, Umatilla, and/or other federally recognized Native American/Alaska Native Tribes
· Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
