JOB TITLE: HCV Occupancy Specialist
SUPERVISOR: Director of HCV Programs
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will provide the full range of HCV Program services from tenant enrollment to end of participation including orientation, eligibility, recertification and inspections.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English
· Must have excellent verbal, written, keyboard, and organizational skills
· Must have considerable computer skills with the ability to type a minimum of 45 wpm, and have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office / Word, and Excel programs.
· Must have a professional appearance and demeanor
· Must have a minimum of a high school diploma: vocational or college degree preferred
· Must have good math, filing, and written and verbal communication skills
· Must also be able to multi-task in a fast team based paced environment.
· Knowledge of purposes, policies and regulations of the Authority as established by the Board of Commissioners (furthermore referred to as Board)
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, business contacts, and residents/tenants
· Ability to explain, interpret, and act on housing policies and procedures as established by the Board and HUD
· Must be mature with an ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the general public and to handle clients in a calm and fair manner
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Housing Quality Inspections
- Establish client eligibility
- Compute rent, and gross family contribution
- Determine household unit size
- Execute lease approval process
- Complete interim and re-examination process
- Monthly payroll
- General case management of each assigned client from time of initial application to end of participation.
- File maintenance
- Gather information regarding complaints
- Conduct new client orientation
- Other duties as requested
SPECIAL REQUIRMENTS
- Possession of a valid State of West Virginia driver’s license.
- Ability to be covered under the Housing Authority’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Willingness to attend training seminars and conferences to update/acquire knowledge in needed areas.
- Ability to pass drug test.
- Stooping, bending, filing, working at computer, minimal walking.
- Travel
- Reliable Transportation
