Position assists in the practice of Occupational Therapy under the general supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) aids in the treatment of problems interfering with function in pediatric, adult and geriatric populations impaired by illness, disease process, birth defects, accidents or any other function limiting process/diagnosis in order to achieve optimum function in clinical out-patient and/or in-patient settings. Assists in assessing, planning and implementing therapeutic services in a multidisciplinary setting. May assist in completing Occupational Therapy Assessments, assists clients to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives using a variety of therapeutic modalities. Flexible in an outpatient setting. Accepts other duties as assigned.
