Location: Dripping Springs Sports Club — Dripping Springs, TX, plus remote/partner training facilities
Schedule: Part-time. Primarily Sundays and weeknights, with occasional Saturdays.
Employment Type: Contract-to-permanent
Compensation: $TBD/hr, commensurate with experience and certifications
Reports To: Director of Reach Performance
About the Role
Dripping Springs Sports Club is looking for an Athletic Performance Coach to lead training for middle school and high school athletes. You'll run small-group and team sessions focused on speed, strength, agility, and injury prevention — building athletes who move better, compete harder, and stay healthy through their seasons.
This is a hands-on coaching role. You're on the floor, cueing lifts, running warm-ups, and connecting with athletes who are still figuring out what they're capable of. We're looking for someone who takes that seriously and enjoys it.
The position starts as a contract engagement with the intent to convert to a permanent part-time role based on performance and fit.
What You'll Do
- Lead group and team training sessions for youth athletes (ages ~11–18) at the club and at remote/partner facilities
- Design and deliver age-appropriate strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programming
- Coach movement mechanics and correct technique in real time; scale sessions to mixed ability levels
- Run structured warm-ups, movement prep, and injury-prevention work
- Track athlete progress and communicate development clearly to athletes, parents, and coaches
- Maintain a safe, organized, high-energy training environment; set up and break down equipment
- Represent the club professionally when training off-site
- Support seasonal camps, clinics, and team contracts as needed
What We're Looking For
Required
- Athletic training, strength and conditioning, or sports performance background
- Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate youth athletes in a group setting
- Strong understanding of movement mechanics, progression, and age-appropriate load management
- Reliable availability Sunday and weeknight evenings, with flexibility for occasional Saturdays
- Reliable transportation for travel to remote training sites
- Ability to pass a background check (required for work with minors)
Preferred
- Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, or Athletic Training (a degree is not required — relevant experience and results carry equal weight)
- Certification such as CSCS, NASM-PES, USAW, ATC, or equivalent
- Personal athletic background at the collegiate, competitive club, or high school varsity level
- Experience working with sport-specific teams (baseball, softball, football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc.)
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
Who Thrives Here
You're a coach first. You can hold the attention of a room full of 13-year-olds and still push a senior preparing for college recruitment. You show up early, you know every athlete's name, and you understand that parents are trusting you with their kid's development and their body. You want a place to build something, not just pick up hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
