We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Automotive Service Writer to join our dynamic team! Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing a friendly rapport to understand their vehicle concerns
- Clearly explain repair recommendations, estimates, and service options to customers in an engaging and transparent manner
- Write detailed service orders and estimates using auto estimating software, ensuring accuracy for all repairs and maintenance
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize work orders, track progress, and ensure timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspensions, transmissions, diesel engine repairs, tire services, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to maximize customer value and dealership revenue
- Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining proper documentation for all services performed
- Maintain comprehensive records of customer interactions, vehicle history, and repair details to support ongoing service needs
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or extensive auto service management background with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures
- Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, air brakes, alignments, oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts, diesel engines, and auto body repair
- Experience in automotive diagnostics combined with service writing skills to accurately assess vehicle issues
- Demonstrated ability in upselling services while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Familiarity with auto estimating tools and automotive repair processes
- Strong sales skills with the ability to promote additional services confidently
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate technical information to customers of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly and maintain detailed records of all financial dealings
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred

Pay: $47,966.77 - $57,766.44 per year
