Job Summary
The Property Management Accounts Payable Clerk provides financial support across our managed portfolio and will have exposure to sensitive information requiring sound judgment and discretion. This role reports to the Controller and works closely with property accounting, property managers, and vendors across the portfolio.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable for all locations.
- Review, monitor, and analyze all property payment transactions and processing.
- Respond to accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data as needed.
- Execute and complete tasks as assigned and those related to area of responsibility.
- Support property and corporate accounting with other clerical responsibilities as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
- Solid knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office with working knowledge of accounting software.
- Yardi Voyager and MRI experience required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively by prioritizing.
- Exercises good judgment and takes initiative to accomplish assignments in a self-directed manner.
- Demonstrated ability to complete special projects and deliverables as requested.
- Ability to maintain a consistently high quality product with rapid execution.
- Ability to convey financial information in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable transactions.
- Prior experience in property management or commercial real estate accounting preferred; familiarity with CAM charges, tenant billbacks, or multi-entity property coding is a plus.
- High school diploma required.
