Job Summary
Assures safe, quality products and processes by establishing and administering food safety and quality standards, testing materials and product through leadership and management of all quality department members. The Quality Supervisor will be the backup for the Quality Manager, SQF Practitioner, and HACCP Coordinator, and vice versa. Reports directly to the Quality Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Learn, practice, and adhere to all Safety policies & procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) established for NLX
- Learn, practice, and adhere to all Quality policies and procedures including Safe Quality Food (SQF), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Quality Points (HACQP).
- Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform Refractometry, pH reading, Titratable acidity.
- Read and report microbiological plating of finished products.
- Perform Line checks
- Assist with sanitation tasks, equipment and schedules
- Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent: trade school, military training or technical college preferred.
- Experience as SQF Practitioner preferred
- HACCP Basic training course required
- Experience leading or assisting with customer audits
- Strong organizational skills with ability to collect and prepare data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- Works well as a self-motivating team player, who thrives in a fast paced, multi-tasking and results-oriented environment
- Strong problem-solving ability with personal and business maturity
- Operates with a sense of urgency and consistently demonstrates the ability to prioritize
Physical Demands
- Vision, hearing, and speaking to meet performance standards
- Climb ladder up to 10 feet off the ground using safety equipment provided
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods, reach, push, pull, lift, climb, bend, stoop, squat, and use manual dexterity to work with the following tools: blending machines, scales, pallet jacks, drum dollies, mops, brooms, portable stairs, hoses, forklifts etc.
- Ability to safely lift to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and move heavier weights using proper equipment and/or team lifting techniques
Work Environment
Requires ability to work in an environment that may contain fumes, dust, odors, moderate level noise, and temperature and ventilation variations while wearing any appropriate safety and/or protective clean room apparel required (e.g.: safety glasses, gloves, hair net, face mask or respirator, and uniforms)

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
