POSITION FUNCTION/OVERVIEW:
This position conducts psychosocial assessments and provides individual, family and group counseling for youths (and their families, if applicable to the particular program). Depending on the requirements of the program, the Counselor may be responsible for: the facilitation of parent support and educational groups; case management services; volunteer services coordination; and/or supervising other staff members. This exempt position reports to the Jelsema Program Coordinator.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s in social work or psychology required. Master’s in marriage and family counseling, mental health counseling, or other related field preferred. One-year experience in counseling. Must be able to provide their own vehicle, vehicle insurance and have a current FL drivers' license. Experience in children’s and/or family counseling, license eligibility and computer literacy would be assets. Fluent Spanish required.
