Under direct supervision, performs routine office functions within the Financial Aid office in Student Services.
A. Greet and assist students and parents at the Financial Aid department counter.
B. Answer phones and assist callers.
C. Prepares file folders and labels, alphabetizes, organizes and files student documents in an accurate and timely manner.
D. Notify Administrative Assistants when document inventory is low.
E. Document imaging.
F. Schedule appointments for students with staff members.
G. Copies, stuffs envelopes, and shreds documents as directed.
H. Work on special projects as assigned, e.g. financial aid night prep.
Other Responsibilities
A. Performs other duties as assigned.
B. Responds to the functions of the position in an environmental setting which might include cold, heat, odor, dampness, dirt, fumes, dust, oil, grease, noise, or vibration on a frequent basis. Appropriate protective devices are available as required.
A. High school diploma or equivalent, required.
B. Experience in filing, with accuracy, is preferred.
C. Able to operate office equipment, e.g. copier, shredder, scanner, computer, etc. preferred.
D. Must be able to interact with others in a professional manner.
E. Must be able to work independently and effectively with others.
F. Must be able to maintain a consistent work schedule.
G. Must be a current student at Kankakee Community College enrolled in six or more credit hours during fall or spring semesters. For summer employment, student must be enrolled in three or more credit hours in the summer term and/or six or more credit hours during fall semester.
H. Student is required to read and agree to the KCC Student Employment Agreement.
I. Federal Work-Study students should also read and agree to the program rules and regulations.
J. Work schedule and hours may vary and are determined by each department's need. Maximum of 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Maximum of 29 hours when classes are not in session or during the summer.
K. Qualified candidate must be functionally literate in reading, writing, and computation skills as well as computer literate or willing to learn.
Rate of pay: $15.00 per hour eff 1/1/25.
