Perform and report waived, and moderate complexity tests Routine Chemistry, Urinalysis, Endocrinology & Toxicology, Hematology, Coagulation, and Immunology. Exceptions are moderate complexity tests requiring microscopy and immunohematology.
Operate laboratory instruments and performs routine maintenance & procedural calibrations. Diagnoses, troubleshoots and documents all lab instrument and / or reagent problems. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance/repairs and maintains records of actions.
Review Pending Logs, research and resolve missing specimen issues. If unable to resolve issue, then the issue must be given to someone on the next shift to continue the process to resolve. If no resolution can be found, the supervisor should be notified.
Minimum of one years’ experience in a Clinical Laboratory setting as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
Current California Medical Laboratory Technician license is Desired.
Associate of Science (A.S.) degree from an accredited four-year college or university, Bachelor’s degree preferred
