Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Leader to oversee daily culinary operations within our vibrant restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Kitchen Leader, you will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflows to support our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate food preparation and cooking activities to ensure timely service and high-quality standards.
- Lead staff training initiatives, including onboarding new team members and ongoing skill development.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
- Oversee food safety management practices in compliance with health regulations and company policies.
- Utilize POS systems such as Toast POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales tracking.
- Monitor shift management to ensure smooth operations during peak hours and special events like banquets or catering.
- Conduct staff scheduling, interviewing, and performance evaluations to build a motivated team environment.
- Analyze profit and loss reports to identify areas for operational improvement and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, food production planning, and menu development.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment adhering to all safety standards and sanitation protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, kitchen management, or restaurant supervision within casual dining or fine dining settings.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Toast POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing hospitality teams or supervising kitchen staff.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices, inventory control, and food handling regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train staff effectively and manage team dynamics.
- Basic math skills for budgeting, P&L analysis, and inventory calculations.
- Experience in managing various aspects of restaurant operations such as shift management, customer service, catering, or banquet services is highly desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Culinary or hospitality management background with relevant certifications is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
