Job Summary
The role of the Maintenance Engineer is to relentlessly improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of operating equipment and processes through technical and data-driven solutions. The Maintenance Engineer will lead Reliability-Centered
Maintenance programs to provide the appropriate amount of maintenance at the right time to prevent forced outages while at the same time eliminating unnecessary maintenance.
JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
· Develops engineering solutions to equipment issues and failures with concentration on repetitive equipment failure elimination.
· Develop and implement changes to equipment maintenance plans based on failure modes, historical data, reliability principles and best practices.
· Lead and Assist the Root Cause Failure Analysis effort by helping implement corrective actions that are needed to prevent reoccurrence of equipment failures, process safety events, and personnel safety events.
· Responds to emergencies as requested; coordinates activities with others; directs the work and utilization of resources to effect repair.
· Ensures that proper safety practices are followed.
· Follow all company policies in procuring parts for required work.
· Utilize predictive data (vibration reports, oil analysis, etc.) to set priority for outage work.
· Work with the area Operations, Maintenance and Engineering group to create and implement effective strategic maintenance initiatives that support achievement of reliability goals and objectives, key performance metrics, maintenance cost objectives.
· Assist in driving capital and reliability project execution by collaborating with all stakeholders including production, engineering, EH&S, and vendors/contractors to ensure appropriate communication between all groups.
· Audit capital and expense projects to ensure PMs are being created, new equipment is entered is SAP, drawings are being created and stored/saved in proper locations, equipment files are being created, spare parts are purchased and material numbers for spare parts are created in SAP, Bill of material for equipment is created/updated in SAP.
· Ensure effective utilization and integrity of the CMMS system (SAP) for sustaining effective maintenance practices and equipment improvements.
· Provide technical assistance and advice as necessary to aid in troubleshooting complex issues in mechanical/reliability process. · Utilize Failure Modes and Effects Analysis to provide systemic improvements the overall reliability of equipment sets.
· Assume active role in developing effective technical training for mechanical technicians and engineers.
· Support the planning effort for annual shutdown to include complex job planning, job coordination, resource planning and financial management.
· Monitor effectiveness of predictive and preventative maintenance programs and drive improvement.
· Drive safety to Zero injuries and support development of safety focused culture.
· Develop and update equipment strategies aimed at equipment reliability improvements.
· Perform studies on equipment failures and present solution(s), in report format, to management.
· Ensure that maintenance personnel are utilizing the tools and resources provided to execute proper maintenance effectively.
· Works with the Engineering group to ensure the maintainability/reliability of new and/or modified installations.
· Systematically defines, designs, develops, audits and refines the preventive/predictive maintenance process in pursuit of optimization. Supports and provides technical resource for the Plant's lubrication, vibration, ultrasonic, and thermography programs (requirements, frequencies, and methods of application, training, etc)
· Ensure that Predictive Maintenance technologies (e.g., oil analysis, vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonics, etc.) are correctly applied on manufacturing assets.
· Analyzes equipment history to identify bad actors and opportunities for improvements that will optimize total cost of Ownership.
· Apply total cost of Ownership analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions.
· Support, develop, update and modify equipment repair standards/procedures, material specifications, bill of materials, equipment standards, etc.
· Facilitate Equipment Criticality strategy formulation and ranking sessions.
· Other duties as assigned SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office project software and a CMMS (SAP).

Qualifications:
A minimum requirement is for this U.S.- based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (must be a U.S. citizen, US. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee. Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
Seeking 3+ years of experience relating to fixed and rotating equipment Experience in a chemical manufacturing facility. Experience with maintaining rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines. Experience with fixed equipment including heat exchangers, tanks, boilers, and vessels. API certification is a plus.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
