Sirius Staffing is seeking Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technicians in Birmingham, AL for 2nd shift, Mon – Fri. For this role, you must have a background in GLP/GMP and demonstrate proficiency in aseptic technique.

Job Type: Full-time, long-term contract (potential for direct hire)
Shift: 2nd shift (4:00 PM – 1:00 AM) Training may begin on the day shift (8a – 5p)
This role supports the Pharmaceutical/Polymer Operations aseptic, terminally sterilized, polymer (clean room), and non-aseptic (pilot plant) manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical and polymer production. Work includes development/engineering, clinical-phase, and commercial operations performed in compliance with safety, quality, and cGMP requirements.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field + 2 years relevant industry experience, preferred bachelor’s degree in science or engineering OR;
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with proven 2–5 years relevant industry experience
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and processing equipment, including:
- Isolators/glove boxes
- Homogenizers, extruders, pumps
- Stirred reactors, lyophilizers
- Filtration devices
- Hot oil and cooling systems
- Grinding mills, pelletizers, fillers
- Experience using basic hand tools for equipment operation
- Ability to read, write, and follow technical documentation
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in math and computer skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Safety-focused mindset
Key Responsibilities
- Perform aseptic techniques independently and identify improper practices
- Prepare complex, multi-step solutions with minimal supervision
- Operate PLC-controlled equipment and adjust set points per batch records
- Assemble and disassemble process equipment for extrusion, microsphere, liposome, or polymerization operations
- Accurately complete development, GLP, and GMP batch records
- Conduct in-process environmental monitoring
- Participate in IOQ execution
- Review and update SOPs and documentation as needed
- Follow all safety, health, environmental, quality, and cGMP requirements
- Use appropriate PPE and maintain housekeeping standards
- Identify improvement opportunities related to equipment, maintenance, and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
