Duties
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their dining or drinking experience.
- Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Develop beverage recipes and craft innovative cocktails to delight guests and keep offerings fresh.
- Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and balance registers at shift end.
- Monitor inventory levels of alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and supplies; communicate needs for restocking.
- Collaborate with restaurant staff to ensure seamless service during busy hours or special events like banquets or catering functions.
- Uphold responsible alcohol service policies by checking IDs and recognizing signs of intoxication.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of mixology techniques, cocktail recipes, wine varieties, craft beer styles, and spirits.
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for efficient order processing.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders swiftly during peak hours.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally.
- Experience in fine dining environments or food service industries preferred; banquet or catering experience is a plus.
- Ability to develop new beverage recipes while maintaining consistency in presentation and taste.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures within the hospitality industry.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling, billing, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with food industry terminology related to beverage preparation and serving techniques.
- Experience with bar management tasks such as stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards is advantageous.
