Full-Time Behavior Technician (ABA Therapist)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Behavior Technician will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, community, and school settings. This job description describes essential job functions, but does not provide an exhaustive list of duties that may be assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
- Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
- Follow and record data for prescribed toilet training protocols.
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
- Conduct parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
- Daily completion of billing notes in Catalyst.
- Maintain completion of weekly target billable hours.
- Willing to work occasional Saturdays for needed make-up sessions if not scheduled during the week.
- Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
- Maintain client confidentiality and abide by HIPPA laws.
- Utilize safe and appropriate handling and guidance procedures when working with clients.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
- Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals.
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
- Meet monthly required billing hours.
- Attend and engage in weekly Team Meetings.
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor, ABA manager, or the Clinical Director.
- Walk or stand for long periods of time as well as sit down, run, bend, and squat as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: 18+ years old, High School Diploma, able to pass a background check, valid driver's license, M-F 8a-5p availability,
40-Hr Online Training (before start date) http://Autismpartnershipfoundation.org
Preferred: 1000+ hours of experience working with children with Autism in Applied Behavior Analysis Field, 40 hour RBT Training, and Infant and Child CPR/First Aid Training.
RELATED TRAINING:
Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and training once employed including, but not limited to: CPR, Fingerprinting & Background Checks, RBT training and certification, and other company in-services and training as directed by employment supervisor.
To keep staff and client's safe we monitor temperatures at the door. Wash hands and sanitize regularly. Clean, disinfect and sanitize rooms daily.
