Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Housekeeping Floor Technician to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of our facility’s floors and surrounding areas. Duties
- Perform comprehensive floor cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and scrubbing to maintain spotless surfaces across various flooring types.
- Operate specialized equipment such as floor buffers and carpet cleaning machines to achieve optimal floor finish and hygiene.
- Handle and apply floor cleaning chemicals safely, following all environmental and safety protocols to prevent accidents or chemical exposure.
- Conduct floor refinishing activities such as waxing, buffing, sealing, and polishing to restore and enhance the appearance of floors.
- Execute detailed custodial duties including trash removal, restocking supplies, and ensuring all areas meet cleanliness standards.
- Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting of equipment or furniture when necessary, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance for compliance and quality assurance.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services with a focus on floor care is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with a variety of cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet cleaners, and waxing machines.
- Knowledge of floor cleaning chemicals and their appropriate application to different surfaces.
- Experience in handling chemical agents safely in accordance with OSHA regulations or local safety standards.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and visitors.
- Prior janitorial or environmental services experience demonstrating attention to detail and reliability is advantageous.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, manual handling, and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts.
