General Description: The Agency Engagement Manager plays a pivotal role in serving on the forefront of the Agency Relations team to help lead and strengthen our partner agency network. This role is responsible for assisting in the oversight and implementation of the agency relations team's strategies, with a strong focus on building and maintaining positive, productive relationships across our network. The position must ensure strategic overview of the service territory, ongoing compliance, and a general administration of the policies and guidelines of the San Antonio Food Bank, Feeding America, and the Texas Department of Agriculture as they relate to agencies access to food inventory received including but not limited to TEFAP, donated and purchased product. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional customer service and support to agencies, fostering trust and collaboration that enhances our collective ability to serve the community. Key responsibilities include supporting the team with agency engagement, recruitment, training, retention, and capacity building—all while ensuring compliance with the policies and guidelines. This position is vital in promoting a responsive, supportive, and connected network that can effectively address hunger across our region. This position will also serve as a subject matter expert for special projects tied to agency engagement. With this, the position will ensure constant, equitable, and compliant food distribution to eligible individuals of the community.
Essential Functions:
- Implement processes to ensure effective, efficient, and strategic operations of the Agency Relations team within the Food for Today efforts, keeping in mind continuous quality improvement and promoting a culture of safety for staff, volunteers and guests.
- Recruit and orient new partner agencies to uphold the organization's mission and values in serving neighbors in need.
- Manage the upkeep and tracking of the agency dashboard to measure progress and impact over time.
- Develop processes to ensure effective, efficient, and strategic operations of the Agency Relations team within the Food for Today efforts, keeping in mind continuous quality improvement and promoting a culture of safety for staff, volunteers and guests.
- Develop strategies to build agency network capacity to better serve neighbors facing hunger. This includes connecting neighbors with additional services that can assist with addressing root causes of food insecurity.
- Play an active role in networking and collaborating with counterparts throughout the Feeding America Network to include other food banks.
- Oversee and support the agency network with designed tools and templates that will contribute towards the organization's strategic plans with measured impact and success.
- Supervise staff and promote an environment of inspired teamwork where staff is driven by a passion for service and empowered to excellence.
- Contribute towards strategies that meet the needs of underserved areas by researching the community for gaps in service and offering individualized plans to address.
- Participate in the collection and analyzation of data that can be associated with the strategic implementation of partners in underserved areas allowing to quantify the output and outcomes of services.
- Develop and maintain organized standard operating procedures for the agency relations team.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the Service Insights on Meal Connect project for agency relations as well as extensions of the system in other areas of the organization.
- Ensure a familiarity of the compliance policies and procedures of the San Antonio Food Bank, Feeding America and the Texas Department of Agriculture.
- Ensure the fair and equitable distribution of product to all partners via agency ordering and any other forms of product distributions.
- Periodically audit, review and update agency files, licenses, inspections and permits.
- Develop and conduct regular workshops and training programs for partners to expand beyond food needs to include but not limited to: nutrition, federal benefit eligibility, workforce and job placement.
- Develop and implement procedures for annual gathering of demographic data on partner clientele.
- Participate in a retention plan to foster agency growth, build capacity and reduce recidivism.
- Assist in events related to Food for Today efforts and other departments when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; 3 years of work experience may be substituted, in lieu of degree.
- Professional experience in non-profit sector, public affairs, program management or other relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a supervisor.
- Experience in public speaking, teaching, or training.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal; including the ability for effective public speaking.
- May require travel periodically.
- Bilingual Preferred.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work collectively with other staff, volunteers, and organizational personnel.
- Contributes to solution-based discussions including providing thought provoking discussion points and is committed to solving problems.
- Orientation to detail, accuracy, and the meeting of deadlines.
- Good judgment and discretion.
- Ability to represent the Food Bank in a courteous, professional manner.
- Possession of a current Texas driver's license and vehicle insurance.
- Access to reliable transportation.
