Soup Witch is hiring a Farmers Market Salesperson
Pay: $20/hr + tips + sales bonuses
Where: Denver-area farmers markets (City Park, Harvey Park, South Pearl, Highlands)
When: At least one weekend day, most weeks
We‘re looking for someone to run our booth on market days. You‘ll be the first person people meet from Soup Witch, so we need someone who‘s genuinely friendly, shows up on time, and loves soup.
This job is physical and social in equal parts. Some weeks you‘ll talk to a couple hundred people. Every week you‘ll be loading and unloading a full booth setup on your own.
What the job actually looks like:
- Load up your car, drive to the market, and set up the booth: tent, table, coolers, bins, weights
- Greet people, get them to try a sample, and talk them through what makes our soups different (local ingredients, all made in house from scratch)
- Use the POS to ring up customers
- Keep the booth looking clean and inviting
- Break it all back down at the end and load it back in your car
- Show up on time. Market start times aren‘t flexible
What you need:
- A reliable car big enough to fit a pop-up tent, folding table, 4-5 coolers, bins, and weights (think: Subaru Outback or larger)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs off the ground
- An outgoing personality. You need to actually enjoy talking to strangers
- Punctuality, every time
- At least one weekend day of availability through Nov 1
Nice to have but not required:
- Farmers market, retail, or food service experience
- Interest in wellness, ayurveda, or natural food
- Comfortable talking about ingredients and answering questions about them (there will be a training doc on this)
