SKC Inc. is seeking an energetic, organized, and employee-focused People Partner to join our Human Resources team.
As People Partner, you will serve as a trusted and approachable resource for employees while supporting benefits administration, HR compliance, employee outreach, leave programs, onboarding, and the overall employee experience.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems, building relationships, and making HR processes feel a little less like paperwork—and a lot more like people work.
Why SKC?
SKC Inc. is a global leader in industrial hygiene and occupational safety, but our success begins with our people.
We are proud to have been recognized as a 2026 Top Workplace in the Manufacturing Industry, along with six Culture Excellence awards for:
- Professional Development
- Employee Well-Being
- Employee Appreciation
- Purpose & Values
- Work-Life Flexibility
- Innovation
We take our work seriously, but we do not believe work has to be boring. We value new ideas, honest conversations, continuous improvement, employee celebrations, and the occasional reason to have a little fun.
Our culture is guided by three core values:
Service. Integrity. Passion.
These are more than words on a wall. They shape how we support our customers, how we treat one another, and how we make decisions every day.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will help employees navigate the programs, policies, and resources that support their working experience at SKC.
Your responsibilities will include:
Benefits and Employee Support
- Serve as a primary resource for employee questions regarding medical, dental, vision, retirement, disability, life insurance, wellness programs, and other benefits.
- Support new-hire enrollment, annual open enrollment, qualifying life events, and benefit changes.
- Help employees understand and confidently use the benefits available to them.
- Coordinate with benefit carriers, brokers, Payroll, and employees to resolve enrollment, eligibility, billing, and deduction questions.
- Assist with benefit communications, educational resources, employee meetings, and wellness initiatives.
- Support benefit invoice reviews and help identify enrollment or billing discrepancies.
Compliance and HR Administration
- Help ensure HR practices remain consistent with applicable employment laws, company policies, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Maintain accurate employee information, personnel records, benefit files, and compliance documentation.
- Conduct routine audits of employee records, benefit elections, employment eligibility forms, training records, and HR system data.
- Track required notices, certifications, acknowledgments, and compliance deadlines.
- Assist with policy updates, required workplace postings, reporting, audits, and other compliance activities.
- Protect confidential employee information with the highest level of discretion and integrity.
Leave and Accommodation Support
- Assist with the administration and tracking of FMLA, disability, workers’ compensation, military leave, personal leave, and other leave programs.
- Provide employees with forms, notices, instructions, and timely follow-up.
- Track certification deadlines, available leave, documentation requirements, and anticipated return-to-work dates.
- Coordinate with employees, supervisors, benefit providers, Payroll, and HR leadership.
- Support the workplace accommodation process by organizing documentation and maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
- Recognize when a situation requires escalation to HR leadership or legal counsel.
Employee Outreach and Experience
- Be an approachable and trusted point of contact for employees throughout the organization.
- Conduct proactive employee outreach related to benefits, wellness, workplace resources, onboarding, leave, and employee programs.
- Support surveys, employee check-ins, focus groups, recognition activities, and engagement initiatives.
- Help identify recurring employee concerns and recommend clearer communications or improved processes.
- Listen to employee questions and concerns professionally, document relevant information, and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Help create an employee experience that is responsive, respectful, informative, and occasionally a lot of fun.
Onboarding and Employee Lifecycle Support
- Coordinate pre-employment and onboarding activities, including background checks, employment eligibility documentation, benefit orientation, and policy acknowledgments.
- Help new employees feel welcomed, prepared, and connected from their first day.
- Process employee promotions, transfers, supervisor changes, compensation changes, status updates, and separations.
- Assist with offboarding, exit interviews, benefit information, and final administrative requirements.
- Maintain accurate information within the HR information system and other HR platforms.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of HR knowledge, strong organization, compassion, curiosity, and a genuine desire to help others.
Preferred qualifications include:
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Two or more years of experience in human resources, benefits administration, employee support, leave administration, or a related area.
- Familiarity with employment requirements such as FMLA, ADA, COBRA, employment eligibility verification, confidentiality, and wage and hour practices.
- Experience using an HR information system, payroll platform, benefit administration system, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or multi-location organization is helpful but not required.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or another HR certification is a plus.
What Will Make You Successful
You may be a great fit for this position if you:
- Genuinely enjoy helping employees.
- Can balance compassion with consistency.
- Have strong attention to detail without losing sight of the person behind the paperwork.
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully.
- Treat confidential information with care and sound judgment.
- Know when to solve a problem and when to ask for help.
- Can manage several priorities without letting important details disappear into the HR abyss.
- Enjoy improving processes instead of saying, “That’s just how we’ve always done it.”
